Stopping of [θ]
in initial thr- This map shows the distribution of locations with stopping of [θ] in initial thr-. In Shetland, Orkney, Man and northern England, the stop is dental [t̪]; in East Anglia and Buckinghamshire it is alveolar [t]; and in the southwest, Wales and Wexford it is alveolar [d] or retroflex [ɖ]. dt.
